Apologies for being MIA last week — we got some semi-devastating news that McClatchy is shuttering First for Women. A few other titles are also getting the boot, which means some of my colleagues were let go at the end of last week. This news isn’t shocking, as I know several other big publications laid off writers recently.

Fortunately, I’m still gainfully employed. But my focus is now strictly on Woman’s World. That means no new coverage and no updates moving forward on First for Women.

Now that the terrible news is out of the way, I have some exciting news regarding weekly sales round-ups in the fashion and beauty space. Keep reading to find out what I’m covering!

📢 What to Pitch Me

If you have a relevant product or service that’s perfect for the Woman’s World audience, I want to hear about it.

Beauty/Skincare and Fashion Sales

My sale round-ups are making a comeback, but they’re more hyper-focused. I have a beauty sale round-up and another one for fashion. The beauty one gets a refresh on Wednesday, and the fashion on Thursday.

If you’re going to pitch a sale, please make sure the dates are relevant to the week. For beauty, sale dates should start on or after the Wednesday of that week. For fashion, sale dates should start on or after the Thursday of that week.

Deadline for Fashion: Please pitch with the subject line FASHION SALE by Wednesday of any given week for consideration
Deadline for Beauty: Please pitch with the subject line BEAUTY SALE by Tuesday of any given week for consideration

Mess-Free Kids Activities

I’m putting together a round-up of kids’ activities that are easy for parents to set up and clean up. Crayola has a bunch of offerings (I’m obsessed with this mess-free paint set, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out the magic of it). Are there other mess-free activities for kids? I want to here about them! Think kids of all ages — babies, toddlers and teens.

Deadline: Please send relevant pitches with the headline MESS FREE KIDS by June 12.
